Message from Kris Hartley, Program Leader of the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Policy Science and Management, The Education University of Hong Kong, Department of Asian and Policy Studies.
In my frequent travels around the world, people often ask me questions like this one: “Kris, why would somebody want to study public policy in Hong Kong?” Well, I relish this question, because it is so easy to answer. Hong Kong is a hub of economic, cultural, and political activity, with a diverse and well educated population. With its attention trained on local, regional, and global affairs, the dynamic city of Hong Kong is indeed a crossroads for global policy issues and home to scholars and teachers from all parts of the world and from right here in beautiful Tai Po and Sha Tin.
In Hong Kong, we are privileged to be in the company of top policymakers, business leaders, social innovators, and society’s artistic creators. At the Education University of Hong Kong, you have the additional pleasure of being taught by experienced government professionals, leaders in research, and a young and ambitious cadre of emerging scholars who are working for a better society right here and around the world.
We invite you to join us in this dynamic city – a city fit for a young and vibrant university like the Education University of Hong Kong. I look forward to seeing you on campus soon. Thank you for your interest, and be well.
